Multi-storey electrically driven floating pumps are a set of vertical centrifugal pumps that are coupled directly to the floating electric motor. The electromotor is asynchronous, alternating current, and the squirrel cage is filled with water. The water inside the motor is for both lubricating the bearing and for cooling the heat in the coil inside the motor. The motor shaft has a sand-resistant wool bowl and is sealed with a mechanical seal.
The pump is single or multi-storey, single-suction, radial-cut, and vertical mounting. In some cases it can be mounted horizontally or oblique depending on the number of floors and the size of the engine. Butterflies are mixed flow and can be cut. The suction chamber between the motor and the pump by the suction strainer protects the pump against solid particles in the water. These pumps usually have a one-way valve. It is also possible to supply floating pumps for saline and sand water.
